Javes Bros: Saddlers’ Shop in Leicester Road, Kibworth

My father Ernest Javes (known locally as Ted) went into partnership with Arthur Hill in 1946 at his Leicester Road saddlers’ business.  Then on 25 October 1947 Ernest took over the business with his brother Roy Javes and it was re-named Javes Bros.  I was born in Kibworth in 1947.  My father left the business on 31 December 1951 and Roy Javes ran it, though it continued as Javes Bros.
