Society
Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, except January, July, & August, in the Methodist Schoolrooms on School Road, at 7.30pm. Visitors are always welcome.
Kibworth History Society was founded by the late Dr. Christine Vialls and held its first meeting in February 1989 as the Kibworth Family History Society. Over the years the emphasis has turned towards local history, hence the change of name.
Members have differing levels of involvement, some carry out research into topics with the intention of publishing their results whilst others are content to enjoy the monthly speakers.

The Society’s aims include:
Raising awareness and fostering an interest in local history; gathering, study and publication of local historical information.
Members of the Society made a copy of the gravestone inscriptions in the churchyard behind the Congregational Chapel prior to it being closed in 1997. Available here.
The Society contributed to the highly successful history exhibition held in the village in September 2003.
